Educational and Child Psychologist

About Us

Dr Brooke Allen is an Educational and Child Psychologist with a doctorate in Educational and Child Psychology from the University of Manchester. She holds the qualifications DEdChPsy, MRes, PgDipSW, and BSc(hons). Based on the Wirral, Dr Allen is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and is a member of the Association of Educational Psychologists (AEP) and a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (CPsychol). With over 20 years experience working with children, young people, and their families, including previous roles as a Social Worker and an Educational Psychologist in a large Local Authority,  Dr Allen is experienced in conducting a wide range of assessments that address various aspects of a child's development, including communication and interaction skills, social, emotional, and mental health, as well as cognition, learning, and literacy. She is qualified to diagnose specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia. Additionally, Dr Allen offers consultation services to parents, teachers, and other professionals, helping to develop personalised strategies that support each child's unique needs. She works in a way that respects and values each child's rights and individuality, with a strong focus on understanding and supporting neurodiversity.
