An Independent Child & Educational Psychology Service
Based on the Wirral, Allen Psychology offers comprehensive educational psychology services across the North West of England. Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), we are dedicated to supporting the emotional wellbeing and educational development of children and young people from birth to 25 years. Our services extend to families, schools, specialist provisions, colleges, Local Authorities, and the charity sector, where we provide assessments, training, and support to overcome barriers to learning and promote inclusive practices.
We work closely with Local Authorities to provide statutory advice for Education, Health and Care Needs Assessments, ensuring that every child receives the support they need to thrive. Additionally, our work within the charity sector focuses on preventative measures, striving to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people before challenges escalate.
With a unique background in social work, we bring expertise in supporting the education of looked after and adopted children. Our founder, Dr. Brooke Allen, is an Associate Lecturer at The University of Manchester with a research focus on the role of Educational Psychologists in child protection and safeguarding. Her work, particularly in responding to extra-familial harm within schools, has been published in peer-reviewed journals.
At Allen Psychology, we are qualified to administer a wide range of cognitive and literacy assessments. As passionate advocates for neurodiversity, we strive to challenge and change perceptions of neurodivergent individuals. We promote acceptance, understanding, and respect for neurodivergent identities, working towards a more inclusive and equitable society for all.
